CICADA AUDIO – Everything you can possibly ask for in Motorcycle Audio Systems

The COMP69.4 KIT includes everything you will need to place 6 x 9″ components in your bag lid grills. This kit includes CM69.2, CHD69TB Tweeter Bridge and RR075T 1″ ring radiator tweeters. The CM69.2 speakers are a great solution for 2014 and later Harley baggers and other motorcycles. But…these speakers are NOT an easy fit into most bags.  Typically, the bags are designed for 5 x 7’s (sometimes 6 X 8’s) and NOT 6 X 9’s.  Just so you know… there are 9 different 6 X 9 frames sizes for us “manufacturers” to choose from when deciding on what kind of 6 X 9 we would like to build! (amazing as it sounds!!). These DO NOT simply bolt into the factory speaker locations (typically an adaptor is needed or built) We had no choice IF we wanted 2-inch voice coils for added power handling as this is pretty much the ONLY 6 X 9 frame that will handle 2-inch voice coils (again…it’s the only frame currently available for 2-inch voice coils).  So, DON’T be fooled!!  CHD69TB custom tooled tweeter bridge is the best solution for making a neat, compact installation of your tweeters. Our RR075T shallow tweeters are a perfect match to make this component system to be the best solution from our product line for complete balanced sound. As always, Cicada recommends that this kit be taken to Professional Installers to install.

Cicada Audio was founded by industry veteran, Larry Frederick who designed 12V audio for over 30 years.  He has 5 design and engineering awards and 2 design patents.  He’s developed 1,000’s of products in that time, many gaining “cult” status. He REALLY knows 12-volt audio.  He saw that there was a real need for some new thinking and new direction in audio.  Specifically, “motorcycle audio”.  Cicada Audio is focused, we don’t do “car” audio, we don’t do “marine” audio, we don’t do “powersport” audio.  We ONLY do Motorcycle audio …PERIOD!!!

These drivers handle more power, are louder, play lower, with more authority and sound better right out of the box than any other pro audio type speaker for Motorcycle applications. We’ve built these speakers with the best materials we can use and keep sensitivity and sound quality as high as possible. With 2-inch voice coils on the Mid-Bass driver we’ve built in extreme sensitivity for unreal output and high heat dissipation. Light weight neodymium magnets, high sensitivity, cast frame, trick dust cap to improve sound, these speakers are way beyond all the competition.   Pair these with our Ring Radiator Horn tweeters (the super shallow RR075T) and you have a winning combination.

The cone materials, surround and Powder Coat finishes have passed extensive UV exposure testing to ensure these speakers will look and sound amazing for years to come.  Yes, they are paper cones. So you have to think…”Why” would Cicada Audio use treated paper?  They could have used Carbon Fiber, Kevlar, Polypropylene, any number of “cooler” materials.  Great that you asked!  It is because we STILL have not found a better sounding…OR as light a material as paper.  And the weight of the cone changes EVERYTHING.  Remember that Larry has done this for a few days (over 40 years) and has seen it ALL.  Been there, done that, filmed the movie, wrote the book, printed the T-Shirt!  He didn’t do it because it was easy.  He did it because it is the best for sound AND sensitivity.  You have to ALWAYS think….or remind yourself, that ENERGY isn’t FREE!  And your bike can ONLY produce so much energy.  PERIOD.  To make power….you need power.  Seriously… you have a 50-amp stator on your bike!  For every 1,000 watts you need 116 amps of current (Full Range Class D!)  Larry taught to BE smart, design around your bikes limits and get the MOST you can out of your system…WITHOUT killing your electrical system, or the audio system.

You might want to consider 2-ohm speakers!  So now you’ve just doubled your amplifiers power by simply picking a 2-ohm speaker versus a 4 ohms speaker!  Remember the energy deal we talked about earlier.  This is FREE energy!!   Same amplifier you currently have, but NOW it makes roughly twice the power!  Just because you researched what you were doing and picked the CORRECT speaker for the application!!!

FITMENT APPLICATIONS:

Cicada Audio CM series 6 X 9’s typically do NOT drop in for an easy install (but neither does ANY cast frame 6 X 9’s out there). But using our CHDLID Cut in Lid Grill Kit….then it’s a No brainer @!  Drop in!!   No problem. 

NOTE: Will fit other motorcycle brands lid kits with an adaptor, and, with some expert assistance from your local Cicada Audio Dealer (go to our Dealer Locator to find that guy!!!)
